DIED:--On Friday night, after a lingering illness, Mr. John W. White, aged 38 years.
Mr. White was born in Susquehanna county, Pa., but removed to this state about 17 years ago. He came to this town some 9 years ago, and has made it his residence since that time. During that time he has been prominent in our business and social circles, and though in fading health, active in business, having been engaged in the hardware business in the firm of White & Gillespie, of which he was a member until the past few weeks. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Masons, Legion of Honor, orders, and the funeral services were taken charge of by the fraternity of Odd Fellows.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wright of the M. E. Church, on Sabbath last, after which the remains were deposited in the Nevada cemetery.
He leaves a wife and family of small children, and a brother here to mourn his loss, and look forward to a future meeting in the hereafter.
IN MEMORIAM--Whereas, John W. White has recently been called from earth to the Supreme Lodge of the Universe, heretofore, as an expression of our sympathies, and as a tribute to his memory by Central Lodge, No. 194, I. O. O. F.
Resolved. That in his death society has lost a useful member, his lodge a kind and esteemed brother, his family a tender husband and beloved father, the community a man universally respected, and by all sincerely mourned.
Resolved. That to the desolate widow and the fatherless children, now so sorely bereaved, we do extend our earnest sympathy and express our heartfelt sorrow.
Resolved. That the secretary be and is hereby directed to forward a copy of these resolutions to Brother White's family, and a copy to the local press for publication.
