DIED.--Mrs. Elizabeth Hedge, of Toledo, Iowa, died in this city at the home of her son, J. C. Mitchell, on Friday, Aug. 17th, 1883.
She was born in Uxbridge, Mass., but has been a resident of Iowa since 1845, and the record shows that she lived to a good old age, being 70 years 5 months and 20 days old at the time of her death. A large and sympathetic congregation assembled at the home of Mr. Mitchell on Sabbath afternoon, where appropriate services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. Thornbrue.
Mrs. Hedge had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since she was about 12 years old, and all along through life, had exerted that moral influence which is so necessary to the formation of good character in the home life; and, as a result, all her children are active and consistent christians. The afflicted relatives have the sympathy of the people of Nevada, who trust it will be a long time before the death angel again visits any of their homes.
