From Story County Watchman March 25, 1881

SHOT HIMSELF.--On Saturday last Daniel W. Robinson shot himself through the right breast about one and a half inches above the nipple, from the effects of which he died on last Tuesday. He has been ailing for some years and it may have had a bearing to bring about the act. His age was about 22 years. Coroner Boggess was summoned and the jury made report as follows. He was the son of W. R. Robinson living in the southern part of this township:

March 22, 1881.
The said Jurors upon their oath do say that the deceased came to his death by a pistol shot from his own hand. In testimony whereof the said Jurors have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
