From Story County Watchman June 3, 1881

On Monday the remains of Mr. F. A. Diffenbacher was brought to this place for interment from Great Bend, Kansas, and was laid in the Cemetery. Several years ago the family lived just north of town are well known to our oldest residents, all of whom will be pained to learn of his demise. Several relatives were here from various parts, among whom we notice J. E. Diffenbacher of Ackly and Joseph Diffenbacker, of Great Bend and others. Mrs. E. Diffenbacher, mother of the deceased, who for some years has been residing in Great Bend, Kan., accompanied the remains to this place. She will make it her home in the future with her son John E., at Ackley, this State.
