IOWA CENTER ITEMS.

IOWA CENTRE, Aug. 24th.

Dr. Ephraim Bowen's wife departed this life Saturday morning Aug. 21st. She was buried on Sabbath Aug. 22nd, Rev. Long of Green Castle officiating.

As a friend she was genial and true. As a wife she was loving and devoted, and as a mother she was all that sacred word implies. The thousand ties that bound her here have been severed for a little while, and to those who are bowed down with grief, let them be comforted by the promise "that at evening time it shall be light."
