A gloom has been cast over our place by the death of Rev. C. O. Parmenter, pastor of the Cong. church here and at Garden Prairie. He died Dec. 15 5 p. m., of billious Colic, after an illenss of but 4 days, had preached the previous sabbath, although not feeling very well. He was about 50 years of age and a strong healthy man, with a variety of gifts and great powers of endurance. His work was ever with the feeble churches and his equal in that respect is seldom found. He leaves a wife and four married children who have the sympathy of all in this trying hour. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Mayne of Omaha and Mr. A. C. Parmenter of Juniata, Neb., came to attend their fathers funeral and are stoping here a few days.
