W. L. Peterson died Wednesday

William L. Peterson, 88, died at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Wednesday movning after an illness of about two years.

Born in Norway, he had been a resident of the Kelley and Ames area before moving to Des Moines 23 years ago.

He had been a farmer in the Ames area most of his life before his retirement 16 years ago.

Mr. Peterson is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Geverna Pfrimmer of Lucas, Mrs. Esther Maxwell, 1208 Duff Ave., Mrs. Edith Amodeo, Carlisle, and Mrs. Ella Essex and Mrs. Thelma K. Keltner, both of Des Moines; three sons, Leonard Peterson, 1203 Carroll Ave., Jerome Peterson of 230 South Kellogg Ave., and Paul Peterson of Des Moines; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, Huxley, with burial to be in the Fjeldberg Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Des Moines.
