Death visited our community twice last week. On Tuesday morning, 16th, Mrs. Walter Watkins died at her home three miles east of town, aged 72 years and 3 months. She was the mother of Mrs. Wm. Pritchard and Mrs. A. Beach. Her husband died in 1878, since which time she lived a widow. The funeral took place on Thursday at the residence, conducted by Rev. Ferguson, assisted by Rev. Bodenbam, after which the burial took place at Iowa Center. She was a woman of strong individuality and much force of character, and was a good neighbor and a kind and true friend.
