MRS. JANE STOWELL

Mrs. Jane Stowell, the mother of Rev. W. A. Sunday, died suddenly Sunday morning at the home of her distinguished son at Winona Lake, Minnesota. She was 74 years of age, and she will be buried Wednesday at Ames. Mrs. Stowell was Mrs. Sunday, living near the present site of Ames in the early years of the war, and there her son "Billy" was born after his father had gone to the war, from which he never returned. She moved away from Story county many years ago but had been an occasional visitor. She was, we believe, of the Corey family, which settled early in the north part of Polk county and was widely known in this region in the early days.
