Jordan Leroy Knutson died August 13, 2010, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born October 12, 1926, in rural Radcliffe to Cemal and Selma Olson Knutson. Jordan was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Radcliffe and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City. He attended school at Concord #8 and Story City Schools, graduating with the Class of 1945.
Jordan worked at the Story City Post Office for many years while attending school. He was an accomplished trombonist and played with the Army Band touring Europe in 1946-1947. He then attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music.
In 1954, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a waiter in many Beverly Hills hotels. Jordan's love was music and his grand piano. His nieces and nephews waited for his visits and enjoyed his sense of humor and caring personality.
Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Virgil in infancy, Reuben in 1969, Jasper "Cyrus" in 1979, Amy Rit-land in 2007 and Gladys Thorson in 2009.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Ardyce Bishop of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Doris (Max) Lewis of Wellman and his many nieces and nephews.
