Shirley JoAnn Mohn, age 85 of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 14, 2010. She had been living with her daughter Monica since 2007.

JoAnn was born January 19, 1925 in Story City where her parents, Guy and Hazel Wick, operated a small produce business. She was valedictorian of her high school class, attended Iowa State College at Ames, and graduated in 1946 from the University of Minnesota. JoAnn had a long career in social work beginning with Lutheran Social Service and ending with retirement from the Minneapolis Public Schools where she served as an elementary school social worker for 25 years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18th at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Hayfield, Minnesota with interment following in the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Truman Mohn, and son Jonathan.

She is survived by children, Stephen (Sylvia), Elsa (Rick) Stazesky, Katharine (Carl) Kragh, and Monica Mohn; grandchildren, Tristan, Sam, Deirdre and Drew Elizabeth; sister, Palma (Paul) Duea. 34-1
