Death Near Colo
Nicholas Donnelly, an aged and respected citizen residing east of Colo, died Friday after prolonged illness and his funeral was hel Monday at Colo. Kindred who came from a distance to attend the obsequies included Mrs. Carmody of Freeport, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Shelton of Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Orr of Cantril.
Nicholas Donnelly Dead
Nicholas Donnelley, who for the past thirty years has resided in this locality died at 2:30 Friday afternoon, after a lingering illness of several months. Mr. Donnelly was a native of Ireland, but came to this country when quite young, living in Illinois for a number of years. He married there, in June 1858, Miss Ane Keilly. Ten children were born to them, two dying in infancy. Mr. Donnelly, moved with his family to Story county, Iowa in 1881, to the farm where he has since lived. He was a devout church member, an honest good neighbor and had many friends. Those left to mourn his death, besides his faithful wife, are his children Mrs. James Carmody of Freeport, Illinois, Mrs. Thos. McGuire of Colo, Mrs. Marshall Shelton, of Waterloo, Mrs. Albert Blink of Rhodes, Mrs. Wiley Orr of Cantrol, Misses Margaret and Katie Donnelly and Mr. John Donnelly who live at home, also twenty one grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Catholic church at Colo, at 10 o'clock Monday forenoon, Rev. Father Nichols officiating. Interment in St. James cemetery at Colo.
