(unidentified newspaper clipping)Mrs. Mary Wood Hankins, widow of David Hankins, passed away in Everett, Wash., Nov. 16, 1935, after a brief illness. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bessie H. Applegate, Mrs. Lillian Campbell and Mrs. Ferne Harris; two grandchildren, Kenneth Wood Applegate and Phoebe Mary Harris, and two great-grandsons.
Mrs. Hankins was a daughter of John Stark Wood and Lucinda Penrod Wood, and a niece of the late W.K. Wood and Jessie Ross Wood families who came to Story count, Iowa, in its pioneering days.
In 1900, with her family, she removed to the State of Washington where she continued to reside until her death at the age of 78 years.
She was identified with the Rebekah lodge in Everett, Wash., having transferred herm membership from the Maxwell lodge; a member of the Past Noble Grand Club of Everett. She was also a member of the Pioneers’ Club of that city.
Two sons, Lester and Harold, preceded her in death.
