Shirley Ann Ishmael, 72 of Colo died on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, August 17 at the United Methodist Church in Colo with Pastor Lewis S. Flanigan officiating. Burial of the cremains will took place at the Evergreen Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural Nevada.
Shirley was born on January 16, 1938 in Alden, Iowa to Victor Eugene and Hazel Lurene (Corbin) Pauley. She married John Krabacher on Aug. 8 1960 and is preceded in death by John on October 11, 1988. On March 31, 2001, she married Leon Thomas Ishmael in Colo, Iowa. Shirley retired as a supervisor from GFS. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Leon T. Ishmael of Colo; 5 daughters, Connie J. (Calvin) McFadden and Diane L. Christian, all of Nevada, Debra S. (Page) Powell of Ft. Worth, TX, Dawn D. (Rod) Vasey of Indianola and Kathy Klein of WI and two daughters; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 sons, John G. Krabacher II and William H. (Joann) Krabacher of FL; 1 stepdaughter, Kathleen S. (Joseph) Klein of WI; a brother, Ronald (Mary) Pauley of LaGrange, GA; 5 sisters, Virginia Patterson and Violet Corbin of Nevada, Iva (Robert) Oxley and Doris (Earl) Otto, all of Colo, and Geraldine Biederman of West Des Moines, IA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers-in-law, Merle Patterson, Ralph Corbin, and Rick Biederman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Shirley’s name at the Israel Family Hospice House.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada was entrusted with the care of Shirley and her family.
