Daisy was born June 9, 1921, to Earl Lincoln and Anna Marie (Schultz) Cormaney on their Woolstock farm. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1939 and from Waldorf College in 1941. After teaching elementary school, in 1943, she married Hubert Hill of Ellsworth. Throughout her life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and farm wife. She loved planting trees and gardening, sewing, reading and music. Her hobbies in retirement included her family, watching baseball games, spending winters in Florida and traveling to other parts of the world. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, serving as a Luther League adviser and Bible study leader, and also was a member of the Ellsworth Study Club. She was spiritual glue. She was rock solid in her commitment and beliefs, her daily devotions attesting to her great faith. When asked how she hoped to be remembered, she said, “for faithfulness, perseverance and love.”

She is survived by her three children, Paul (Mary) Hill, of Ellsworth, Faye (Noel) Hill Thompson, of Ellsworth, and Ann (Douglas) Hill Duin, of Hastings, Minn.; six grandchildren, Peter, Nathan, Rachel, Melia, Erica and Seth; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; her parents; and her 10 siblings, Adelbert (Slim), Melvin (Mugs), Esther Riley, Kenneth, Charles (Chuck), Violet (Daisy’s twin), Donald, Shirley Meyer, Earl Jr., and Carl.

The family of Daisy thanks you for all the prayers, kind gestures, and words of encouragement.
