J. L. Powers' Brother Dies In S. Dakota

Prof. W. H. Powers, brother of J. L. Powers, 1231 Orchard drive, died suddenly following a heart attack Monday afternoon at his home in Brookings, S. D.

Mr. Powers had been professor of English and librarian at the College of Agriculture at Brookings for over 30 years. He was in Ames about 10 days ago and spent the weekend with the Powers family and at that time appeared to be in good health.

Professor Powers was the official delegate from South Dakota to the Harvard tercentenary, having received his master's degree at the university, and had recently returned from the east.

Besides he wife, he is survive by a son in Hawaii, a daughter in New York and five grandchildren.

J. L. Powers and son C. O. Powers left Tuesday for Brookings to attend the funeral services.
