THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, June 29, 2010.

Donald C. Thompson, of Ames, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his home. Donald has been cremated and a celebration of life will be at a later date.

Donald was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Ames, to Milford and Beulah Thompson. He graduated from Huxley in 1958. He married Charlene Peters Dec. 11, 1993. He was employed in the floor covering business for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; one daughter, Amy (Larry) Edel, of Colo; two grandsons, Logan and Colby Edel; two sisters, Helen Overland and Shirley (Gary) Armann; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maxine Gibbs and Sharon Wells.
