Erma Studley, 86, of Webster City, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center at Des Moines. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, at Foster Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Helton officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Erma Jennie Luppes, daughter of Harme and Hilka Tapper Luppes, was born Aug. 20, 1923, at Kamrar. She attended Liberty No. 8 rural school and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1940. While in high school, she received Normal Training. She attended one year at Webster City Junior College. She taught in rural schools in Liberty Township and Union Township. On Sept. 10, 1944, she married Frederick George Studley in Marshalltown. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, the couple operated the family farm east of Webster City in Blairsburg Township. They also owned and operated a Century Farm south of Kamrar. In 1969, the couple moved to Webster City. They retired in 1988. Mr. Studley died Jan. 7, 2005.

Mrs. Studley is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Butch Helton, of Webster City, Lorinda and Charles Inman, of Adel, Ileana and Fred Koernee, of Gainesville, Fla., Violetta and Timothy Hall and Gwenna and Douglas Jacobson, all of Ames; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Jeanne Studley, of Richardson, Texas, and Thomas and Vickie Studley, of Gainesville, Fla., grandchildren, Tamara and John Doran, of Ankeny, Christopher Helton, of Ames, and Melodi and Mark Fielder, of Webster City.
