16 September 1909Popular Story City Lady Dies
Miss Carrie Ruth Cornelliusen, of Story City, died at the parental home on Tuesday, September 7, 1909, being about 33 years old when called by the angel of death. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Cornelliusen, of Story City, and was a highly respected young lady. About two years ago she went to New Mexico in search of health, but to no avail. The dreaded disease, consumption, carried her away. The funeral services were held from the Evangelical church at Story City on Friday afternoon, Rev. J. Alber officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Story City cemetery.
