The Nevada Representative, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, June 9, 1880.
DIED, -Hannah J. Smay, daughter of Rev. J. A. and I. Smay, June 1st, A. D., 1880, aged six years, three months, and six days.
I preached the funeral sermon from Luke 3:52, at 2 o'clock P. M., on Wednesday, June 2d, 1880, to a large and attentive audience in the Murphy school house. This is a sad affliction to Brother and Sister Smay, for little Jennie was dearly loved by All who knew her, especially by her kind parents and relatives. And now while the bereft ones mourn, it is encouraging to us all when we remember, that though a shadow has fallen upon them they do not sorrow as those that have no hope. They bow submissively and may "the will of the Lord be done."
Soon they will meet little Jennie in the eternal home of the soul.
