Nevada Pioneer Buried Here

Nels Simmons died at his home at Nevada, Friday, April 3, 1908 at the age of nearly 82 years. The deceased was born in Norway, but came to this country in the 50's. He came to Roland just after the war and a couple years later he moved to Nevada, where he has since resided.

He leaves his wife, two sons, Newton and Samuel, stepdaughter Mrs. Salisbury of Chicago, and stepson John Newton of this place to mourn his death.

Besides these he leaves three sisters, Mrs. Siri Thompson, of near this place, Mrs. Oliver Thompson, of Radcliffe and Mrs. Ingebrit Eggland, of this place, and a number of other relatives.

The funeral was held Monday from Salem church, Rev. J. H. Sandven officiating, after which interment took place in the Roland cemetery. He was a devout Christian, and was one of the highly respected old settlers of Nevada.
