Miss Christina Hovick was born in Norway, Feb 6 1871 and came to this country in the year of 1888 to make this her home.

Miss Hovick was well and favorably known here as she made her home with O. J. Twedt southeast of town.

In the fall of 1906 she became mentally deranged and was sent to Clarinda for treatment where she died after a brief illness Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the age of 34 years, 10 months 7 days.

The remains were shipped here for burial, arriving Friday Aug. &. Services were held at Bergen church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Smedal preached the funeral sermon, after which interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
