Audrey Ness, 83, of Ames, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Eldora Nursing and Rehab. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral and Cremation Service.

Audrey Ness, 83, of Ames, died Monday, April 16, 2010, at Eldora Nursing and Rehab. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Audrey Ness was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Conrad, the daughter of Alfred and Ethel Ada (French) Miller.

She graduated from Rolfe High School and the Evangelical School of Nursing in Marshalltown on May 4, 1947. She worked as a nurse.

She is survived by daughters Pamela (Dick) Brindle, of Thornton, Colo.; Jan (Jim) Huber of Conifer, Colo.; son Steven Ness, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew) Blaszak, Robert (Elisa) Murphy, Robert (Dawn) Brindle, and John (Becky) Brindle; great-grandchildren Katriana and Nathanael; step-great grandchildren Caroline, Olivia, Jack and Annelise; brother Alfred Miller Jr., and sister Loraine Fitzsimmons.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ethel Ada Miller; and sister, Marie Clemens.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, at Adams Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Bliss Cancer Center.
