Two Funerals Last Week

John K. Johnson and Miss Bertha Jacobson are laid to rest. Many people attend the funerals.

The funeral of John K. Johnson occurred last Friday afternoon from Zion church, Rev. J. N. Sandven officiating. The church was filled to its utmost capacity with friends and relatives who wished to pay a last tribute to the deceased. After the funeral ceremony, the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery by the church.

John K. Johnson was born in LaSalle County, Ill., on January 2, 1862 and died from a few months sickness of diabetes on Tuesday, January 12, 1909, being 47 years and 10 days old at the time of his death. About forty years ago he came to Story County, where he has since resided. About twenty six years ago, he was married, to which union six children were born, they being Edward, Joseph, Mrs. Carrie Tungland, Bertha, Julia and Clarence, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind father. Besides his immediate family he leaves a brother, O. K. Johnson of near this place, and two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Johnson, of this place, and Mrs. Lewis Leimbach, of Ottawa Ill. and numerous friends and neighbors. During the past two years he has been staying on his farm near Jeffers, Minn. a great part of the time, but came here a few weeks before his death.

The Record extends to the sorrowing ones its sympathy during the hour of their bereavement.
