CHRISTIAN RISDAL, DIED LAST WEEK

WAS PAST EIGHTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE AT TIME OF DEATHChristian Risdal was born May 28, 1850, at Skudesness, Norway, and died at Roland on Wednesday, March 23, 1932, at the age of 81 years 9 months and 24 days.
He came to America in 1872 and made his home at Norway, in Benton county, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Hannah Hanson in 1878. In 1916 they moved to Story City, where Mrs. Risdal passed away July 4, 1925. Since that time he has made his home with his children, being at the home of his son Jacob Risdal when he passed away Wednesday evening.
He leaves seven children, 43 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. The children are Daniel Risdal of Atkins, Iowa, Mrs. Lewis Ellingson, Jacob, Hannes and Christ Risdal of Roland, Cornelius Risdal and Mrs. Elias Johnson of Newhall, Iowa. One child preceded him in death.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Risdal home and at Bergen church, Rev. M. O. Sumstad officiating. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.

Kuhild, Jacob Risdal, Tobias Vik of Badger; Mr. and Mrs. Knudt Risdal of Fort Dodge; Ole Dryland, Bessie, Ida, Pete, Louis Hillesland and Christ Peterson of Thor; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Sandve of Ellsworth; Mrs. E. B. Erickson and Martin Henderson of Randall; Mrs. Bertha Dryland and Leo Dryland of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Christianson of Hubbard; Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Sutton of Des Moines; Misses Alice Risdal and Cheryl Ellingson of Nevada.
