Many Attended Carroll Funeral
Kelley, March 12 - A large crowd attended the funeral services of Mrs. Martha Carroll, 77, at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Tyler early on Thursday morning after a few days illness. The services were in charge of her pastor, Rev. Floyd Newbrough, who took as his text, Psalm 17 - 15. The Riis quartet rendered two selections.
Mrs. Russell Childs of Ames sang a solo; pall bearers were nephews of the deceased. Interment was in the Ames cemetery. Relatives and friends in attendance from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tyler and daughter Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kline all of Des Moines; Wilbur Swanson of Perry, Dwight Carroll of Dallas Center, Guy Soderstrum, Luther, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carroll and family of near Luther. Friends from Ames were J. A. Tanner, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sawyer, Mrs. Tina Foster, Lucinda Foster and Mae Ford, Mrs. Minnie Siverly, Mrs. C. C. Ross, Mrs. John Madson, Mrs. Carrie Hannigan, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Olson and son Kenneth, Lew Sorenson, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Childs, Mr. and Mrs. James Sorenson of Napier, Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Stevens of Fenton, Mrs. P. E. Hoak of Des Moines, Anna Rhodes of Woodward.
