THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

Christopher Lee Minnick, 37, of Ames, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, in Baton Rouge, La. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Inurnment in Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter will precede the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Roland-Story MAST in care of Roland-Story High School, 1009 Story St., Story City, IA, 50248.

Christopher Lee Minnick was born Aug. 17, 1972, in Harvey, Ill., to Mark G. and Patricia Ann (Thompson) Minnick. They lived in the Chicago area prior to moving to Iowa in 1980. He attended school at Mormon Trail and graduated from Roland-Story High School in 1990. He served in the U.S. Air Force for nine years. He recently was employed at Burke Corporation in Nevada.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Pat Minnick, of Story City; his sister, Lara (Erik) Gustafson, of Story City; nieces, Casey Gustafson, of Pennsylvania, and Megan Gustafson, of Story City; grandmother, Barbara Minnick, of Chicago; and uncles, aunts, and cousins.
