FORMER RESIDENT DIED
Mrs. Gus Hanson, 76, a former resident of this community, died at her home in Story City at 10 o'clock Monday night from Bright's disease.
Mrs. Hanson was born in Norway on February 22, 1856, her maiden name being Johanna Roe. She came to America with her parents and they lived on a farm southeast of Roland for a number of years. After her marriage to Mr. Hanson, they located on a farm southwest of Story City and lived there until 29 years ago, when they moved to Story City.
Mr. Hanson died about five years ago. She leaves 7 sons and 1 daughter. The sons are Ole, Augustine, Albert, Cornelius, Clarence, Sam and Martin, and the daughter is Mrs. Albert Johnson. One daughter died in infancy.
Other relatives are Ole O. Roe, a brother, of Des Moines, and Mrs. E. M. Olson and Anna Roe of Story City and Mrs. Christine Hines of Elkton, Minn., all sisters.
