OBITUARY OF MRS. HILL
Mrs. Martha Hill was born in Fjelberg, Norway, May 3, 1855 and died at the home of her son, I. J. Hill, near Roland, on June 25, 1935, at the age of 80 years, one month and 22 days.
She was married to Lars J. Hill in 1878, who preceded her in death in 1919. She came to America in the spring of 1885, coming first to Ames. She lived there one year and in Collins for two years, and then moved to Story City where she lived until 1921, when she took up her home with her son near Roland.
Seven children were born of which four died in infancy. Those surviving are her three sons, Ingvald of Roland, Severin of St. Louis, and Newman of Story City. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna Torkelson of Seattle, Wash. An adopted daughter, Sophia, died last year.
Mrs. Hill had been in ill health for a number of years, being an invalid, and had been confined to her bed the last two years.
The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the home and at Immanuel Lutheran church in Story City, Rev. T. T. Heimarck officiating. Interment was made in the Story City cemetery. The pall bearers were Sam H. Twedt, Andrew Vigness, Paul F. Pederson, Eli Johnson, C. H. Risdal, and I. E. Sampson.

Sumstad for his many calls during her previous illness following an operation, also Rev. Olaf Holen for his many visits and kind words in her recent illness, Rev. T. T.
