THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, February 26, 2010.

Isabelle Irene Lund, 87, of Zearing, went to God Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing. Burial will be in Iowa Center Cemetery.

Isabelle was born July 25, 1922, in Maxwell, the first daughter of Ray and Cora (Oyler) Coughenour. She graduated from Collins High School. She married John Adams Lund April 9, 1943, in Bethany, Mo. She was a homemaker, a waitress at Cerka Café and Coe’s Café, a secretary at the Zearing Cheese Factory, a secretary at the Minerva Valley Telephone office and a housekeeper at Colonial Manor and Bethany Manor Nursing Homes. She finally retired from Bethany Manor in 1999 at the age of 77. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing and gardening in her younger days, and spending her golden years with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and Zearing Legion Auxiliary for 58 years.

She will be missed by one son, Ronald Lund, of Hampton, Va.; one daughter, Janet (Brian) Richardson, of Story City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and one sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; two younger brothers; two younger sisters; one sister-in-law; and one daughter-in-law.
