THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, February 25, 2010.

Nicholas “Nick” Gowdy, 36, of Ames, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, in Des Moines. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Nick was born in 1973 in Saigon, Vietnam, and came to the United States after the Vietnam War in 1975. He was a 1993 graduate of Ames High School. He owned Mass Confusion Video Service. He loved aerospace, working with audio and visual equipment and computers.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Marjorie Gowdy; grandmother, Miriam Gowdy; two sisters, Michelle (Chris) Wilson, of Los Angeles, and Jessica Gowdy, of Portland, Ore.; two nephews, Schuller Rettig and Henry Wilson; one niece, Sloane Wilson; special friends, Berry and Angie Thrailkill and Tim Reger; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Richmond Center, 1619 S. High Ave., Ames, IA, 50010.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
