Mr. Torger S. Olson was born on the 21st day of December, 1838 at Telemarken, Norway, and passed away at Story City on Aug. 28, 1919.

He was married to Carrie Jacobson and emigrated to America settling at Hampton, Iowa, then to Minnesota, and several years later coming to Story City, where he resided until his death.

Mr. Olson had been troubled with cancer for some time and passed peacefully away at 80 years of age, leaving to mourn his loss his wife, four daughters and three sons, namely, Mr. Lew Erickson of Ames, Mrs. Lew Underwood of Ames, Mrs. R.E. Hauge of Pequot Lakes, Minn., Mrs. E.O. Severeid of Story City, Charley Olson and John Olson of Story City and Theodore Olson of Garden City, 30 grand children and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral took place Monday, one p.m. At the home and two p.m. at the Bethel church. Interment was made at the Story City cemetery. Rev. Paulsrud officiated.
