Albert M. (Hap) Von Ah

Dec. 10, 1920 - Jan. 23, 2010

Albert M. (Hap) Von Ah, 89, a lifelong resident of Dubuque, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A service of remembrance and sharing will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 390 N. Grandview Ave., in Dubuque. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at the Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Albert M. (Hap) Von Ah, 89, a lifelong resident of Dubuque, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A service of remembrance and sharing was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 390 N. Grandview Ave., in Dubuque. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League.

Albert is survived by four children, Michael (Patricia) Von Ah, of Wasilla, Alaska, Jean Nosich, of New Orleans, La., Mary (David) Von Ah-Gregory, of Nevada, and Ellen (Bill) Laughlin, of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Bob Von Ah, Matt Nosich, Johnny Quach, Peter Gregory, Nick Gregory and Tim Laughlin; six great-grandchildren; one brother, William J. Von Ah, and one sister, Nancy L. Durni, both of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; mother and father; two brothers; and one sister.

An Albert M. Von Ah Memorial Fund has been established.
