Eric Lundby, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, husband of Diane (McLain) Lundby, died suddenly Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Harrison County Hospital in Fort Worth. Memorial services will be in Fort Worth and burial of the cremains, with full military rites, will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery in spring 2010.

J. Eric Lundby, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, died suddenly Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at the Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital. Memorial graveside services, with full military honors, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery, with Pastor David R. Burling officiating.

Julius Eric Lundby was born Oct. 26, 1944, in Indianola, to C.O. and Olga (Moore) Lundby. He grew up in New Virginia. Eric was a 1968 graduate of Simpson College in Indianola. On Nov. 17, 1967, he married Diane K. McLain in Bethany, Mo. Eric proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had a long and distinguished career in property and casualty insurance and excelled in his field. Eric was a devoted husband and father who was a loyal, kind, and generous man. He was a devout Lutheran and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. An accomplished golfer and season-ticket-holding Dallas Cowboys fan, he derived much joy from his hobbies and athletic pursuits. Eric’s generosity and love were greatly appreciated by many.

Eric is survived by his wife, Diane (McLain) Lundby, of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Jessica Lundby, of Venice, Calif.; sisters, Eva (Max) Deal, of West Des Moines, and Erin (Ed) Fox, of St. Paul, Minn.; his mother-in-law, Jonnie McLain, of Nevada; brothers-in-law, Fred (Peggy) McLain and Frank (Cynthia) McLain; sister-in-law, Cindy McLain; nieces, nephews; and close friends, Lyle and Cindy Peterson, of Norwalk.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents.

In memory of Eric, memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
