THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

Lynn A. Woodward, 53, of Kenosha, Wis., passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009. Lynn fought her long cancer fight with courage, determination and a positive attitude. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., with a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., in Kenosha.

Lynn was born July 22, 1956, in Garden City, Mich. She was raised in Glen Ellyn, Ill., as the loving daughter of Perry and Esther Woodward, devoted sister to older brother, Stuart, and younger sister, Kim.

She graduated from Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in family environment/consumer sciences. She went on to have a distinguished career in retail management, working in the Chicagoland area, Iowa and Wisconsin.

She always had been an upbeat and positive person who truly enjoyed the company of others. She will live on in the wonderful memories of us all, her family and friends, who were touched by her infectious spirit and enthusiasm for life.

She had little in this world of riches and possessions, but was incredibly rich in faith, love and countless kind deeds. She was a Christian woman who was honest and generous of heart. Those who loved her knew that when the time came, she would go to a better place without pain and suffering, and that God and Jesus would welcome her with open arms.

She is survived by her father, Perry, and his wife, Lucille; one brother, Stuart; one sister, Kim; two nephews, Seth and Chas; and one niece, Emma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther.
