THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, October 30, 2009.

Rosella “Rosie” Brooks, 77, of Kimberling City, Mo., daughter of Severt and Mary Erickson, was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Ames, and departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Tablerock Healthcare. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Adams Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Adams Funeral Home.

Rosie married Howard Brooks July 9, 1950, and they had made their home in Kimberling City, Mo., for the past 20 years, coming from Ames.

She was a lifelong housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She graduated from Zearing High School in 1950 and lived in the Ames area for 39 years. She moved to Kimberling City in 1989.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Howard; two sons, Mike Brooks and wife, Carolyn, and Dennis Brooks and wife, Nancy, all of Ames; one sister, Helen Knoll, of Des Moines; six grandchildren, Brian, Emily, Steven, Jessica, Allison and Kellee; four great-grandchildren, Grant, Gage, Gigi and Hunter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
