James Peterson, 60, of Randall, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at his home. Services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

James A. Peterson, 60, of Randall, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at his home. A memorial service has been planned for 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City, with Pastor Jim Norem and Chaplain Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

James A. Peterson was born Feb. 9, 1949, in Jewell, to John and Ardyce (Grimsley) Peterson. Jim was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. He graduated South Hamilton High School in 1967 and was a manager at Randall Lumber for many years. Jim was a lifetime resident of Randall and liked piano music and player pianos.

Jim is survived by his mother, Ardyce Peterson, of Story City; two sisters, Nancy (Butch) Solberg, of Jewell, and Joyce Whitcomb (David Bulington), of Eldridge; a brother, Bob (Janet) Peterson, of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Shannon Wallace, Nathan Igo, Jenna (Chad) Anderson, Jessica Solberg, Ryan Wallace, Dylan Wallace, Cody Wallace, and Shelbi Bulington; and a great-nephew, Jordan Chavira.

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Kathy Igo.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
