THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, October 9, 2009.

Sharon Kay Wells passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, of cancer. Sharon’s illness came on suddenly, and at her death she was surrounded by her family. Sharon’s body has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

She was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Ames, to Milford and Beulah Thompson. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1960 and married Steven Wells that same year.

Employment included positions at RR Donnelley, ISU Credit Union and Iowa State University.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Beth) Wells; her daughter, Diane McCall; three grandchildren, Shawn and Ryan Wells and Marissa McCall; and siblings, Helen Overland, Shirley (Gary) Armann and Don (Char) Thompson.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Maxine Gibbs.
