John Hartford Ernest passed away on August 2, 2009. He is survived by his children, Cay Sills (Brad), Steve Ernest and John Ernest, a sister, Vivian Osborn, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John's life was full of love and laughter and his famly and friends will remember his smile, sense of humor, and love of singing.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church with a luncheon to follow.

Burial of cremains with Navy military rites will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa at 2 p.m.

Memorials in John's name may be made to Bethany Manor or Iowa Hospice.
