Last Friday morning the Angel of Death entered the home of Bert Kassel of Potter and left the dark shadow of sorrow by taking his beloved wife. She was stricken with the flu and pneumonia followed and on Sunday the 22nd a little son was born after which the already weakened condition the body refused to rally and she passed away the 27th conscious until the last fully realizing her call had come.

Lillie Maud Westcott was born in Calcachua Parish, Louisianna August 8, 1891 coming with her parents to Collins when about 14 years of age. She was united in marriage February 11, 1911 to Bert J. Kassell and departed this life December 27, 1918. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and three little sons Harold, Clarence and the little infant, father and mother, Mrs. and Mrs. C. J. Westcott, two sisters Mrs. Lottie O'Neal and Mrs. Minnie Kassell and one brother, Josiah now in the U.S. army. funeral services were held at the Collins cemetery Monday morning conducted by Rev. Moore and the remains were laid At Rest in the Collins Cemetery.
