Stella June McBride
July 17, 1919 - Jan. 29, 1999Stella June McBride, 79, of Nevada, died of a heart attack Friday at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada, with the Rev. David Burling officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Stellla June McBride was born in Bethany, Mo., the daughter of James G. and Nellie (Harris) Burton. She owned and operated the El Rancho Cafe and Hunters Hut restaurants in Nevada. On July 5, 1969, she married Marvin McBride in Nevada. She was a longtime resident of Nevada and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Richard Hunter, James Hunter and John Hunter, all of Nevada; a daughter, Dixie Hein of Nevada; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Opal Massengill and Madeline Johnson of Bethany, Mo., Josephine Lewis of Wakavusa, Kan., and Marjorie Hinkson of Portland, Ore.; two step-daughters, Shirley Smith of Spirit Lake and Carol Gammon of Ames; and one step-son, Marty McBride of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Visitation is after 3 p.m. today, with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established.
