Bessie Mae Montgomery
Sept. 17, 1919, to July 27, 1991

Bessie Mae Montgomery, 81, of Nevada died of complications from leukemia at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

She was born to Jesse and Luella (Combs) Stern at Vinton. She lived in Nevada for the past 53 years after moving here from Mokena, Ill. She was employed as a bindery worker for Graphic Forms of Nevada. She married Lewis Ray Montgomery on Dec. 31, 1926, at Vinton.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Banks of Nevada; two sons, Bernard Montgomery and Francis Montgomery, both of Nevada; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther McCloon of Santa Ana, Calif., and two brothers, Richard Stern of Parris, Calif., and Vernon Stern of Springfield, Mo.

Visitation was held July 28 at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services were held July 29 at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Nevada.
