Born Dec. 10, 1917, died Jan. 3, 1999

Wayne W. Otto, 81, of Nevada died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, of congestive heart failure at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

He married Ruby Hobson on Nov. 6, 1937, in Des Moines. Otto served as a paratrooper during World War II. He worked as a farmer, retiring in 1979. Otto was a member of Oddfellows in Nevada and enjoyed working and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Huntrods of Nevada; four sons, Ron Otto and Dennis Otto, both of Nevada, Earl Otto of Colo and David Otto of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Otto of Clemons; two sisters, Leota Myers of Marshalltown and Norma Jean Clemens of Donna, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 6, at First United Methodist Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial was held in the Evergreen Memory Gardens in Nevada.

Memorials are preferred to Homeward Hospice in Ames.

Arrnagements were made by Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
