Leonard N. Dueland May 14, 1918 to Feb. 25, 1991

Leonard N. Dueland, 72, of Nevada died at Story County Hospital of cancer.

He was born in Story County to Tolef and Gertrude (Lein) Dueland. He was a life-long resident of Nevada.

He married Bernadine Higgs on March 8, 1941 and was a member of Nevada Memorial Lutheran church, Story County 4-H Fair Association, Story County Sheriff's reserves, Nevada Rotary Club and a past member of the Nevada School Board.

Survivors include one son, Dean Dueland of Nevada, one daughter, Diane Hamilton of Summit N.J., two brothers, Jerry Dueland of Des Moines, and Robert Dueland of Muscatine, one sister, Norma Howell of Ames, and four grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, his parents and sister.

Visitation will be held Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. at 9 p.m. at Chet Ryan Funeral Home. Services will be held March 2 at 11 a.m. at Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church and burial will be held at Evergree Memory Gardens.
