HARRIET D. COMFORT
Harriet D. Comfort, 94, Madrid, died of a stroke Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Madrid Home for the Aging. Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 26, at the First United Methodist Church, Nevada, with the Rev. William Ballard and Rev. Carletta G. Werre officiating. Burial was in the Zearing Cemetery.
Harriet Scott was born on Nov. 30, 1894, in Story County to Eli and Maria (Blaney) Scott. On Feb. 4, 1920, she married Paul Fred Comfort in Salem. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Happy Hour Club, both of Nevada.
Survivors include her husband, Paul fo Madrid; a son, Paul R. of Black Canyon, Ariz.; a daughter, Harriet Whitmore of Boone; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Nevada, or the Madrid Home for the Aging, Madrid.
