Brother Of Ames Man Dies Suddenly In Newton Monday
NEWTON — Henry Korf, 58, prominent Newton attorney and brother of E. T. Korf, 819 Wilson avenue, Ames, fell dead in his office Monday noon about 12:30. Mr. Korf had been working thru the noon hour dictating to his stenographer when he was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage which caused instant death.
Mr. Korf was considered to be in good health and was planning a business trip when his death occurred.
Since his graduation from the University of Iowa law school in 1899, Mr. Korf had been practicing law in Newton. He was city attorney from 1903 to 1907, served on the city council in 1920, and was a director of the former First National bank. He owned a great deal of land in Jasper county.
Mr. Korf was chairman of the legal publications committee of the Iowa Bar association convention which met in Davenport last week.
His widow and a daughter survive him.
