Peter Christian, 88, Pioneer of Story C., Dies

Special to the Ames Tribune.

STORY CITY—Peter Christian, 88, pioneer resident of this place, died Saturday evening at his country home northwest of Story City. Death was caused by complications following an operation performed a year ago.

Christian was born in Denmark in 1848 and came to Lee county Illinois in 1872. In the fall of 1873 he came to Story City and in 1881 moved to the farm home where he died Saturday.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Henderson Funeral home and at 2 o'clock from the Grace Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Story City cemetery.

Surviving are the following children: Peter Peterson of Elmore, Minn., Mrs. Bernard Peterson of Charlotte, Bayru, Tex., Charles Peterson of Montrose, Minn., Mrs. Soren Christianson of Stanhope, Lewis of Saskatchewan, Canada, William and Caroline at home and Chris of Jasper Park, Alberta, Canada.

There are 15 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren surviving.
