Mildred Alice Keigley, 84, of Ames, died Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday March 30, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
Mildred was born May 27, 1924, in Zearing, to Tom and Rebecca (Ewalt) Myers. She married Robert Keigley on November 4, 1941, in Boone County, and spent all of her life in Story County. Mildred worked for Collegiate Manufacturing and Bourns in Ames, retiring in 1984.
She is survived by one daughter; Judith (Jan) Van Meter, three sons, Paul (Lou Ann) Keigley, Dick Keigley, and David (Marie) Keigley, son-in-law; Richard Gumtau, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother; Ray (Pat) Myers, one sister; Annabelle Smith; and Millie’s special friend, Warren Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Bobbie Gumtau; one sister; six brothers; and one grandson, Mitch Van Meter.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family in care of Paul Keigley, 516 S. Dayton Ave., Ames, IA, 50010.
