Osmund Birkeland Of Roland Dies At Home Of Sister

Special to the Ames Tribune.

ROLAND—Osmund Birkeland, 62, who has farmed four miles south of here for the last 22 years, died Thursday night at the home of his sister, Mrs. Knut Jacobson, in Dallas, Wis.

The body will arrive here Monday night and funeral services probably will be held here Tuesday at Bergen church, of which Mr. Birkeland was a member.

Mr. Birkeland, who had been ill for some time, went to his sister's home several weeks ago. He is survived by another sister, Betsy, and two brothers. Henry and Benhard, with whom he made his home, and a sister, Mrs. Oliver Bakken of Luverne, Minn. He was unmarried.
