Rosie T. Braland, 87, of Story City died Thursday at Bethany Manor Nursing Home of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Mamrelund Cemetery near Randall.

Mrs. Braland, a homemaker, was born in Randall and had lived in Ames since 1964.

She is survived by two sons, David of Story City and Robert of Severna Park, Md.; three daughters, Rosalie Canon of Ames, Jean Lamp of Mankato, Minn., and Marilyn Bash of Des Moines; a brother, Bendick Tjernagel of Pennock, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Bethany Manor Nursing Home.
